Blending unique global flavours with the fresh, organic, and tradi- tional staples of Iceland—Reykjavík´s colour- ful gourmet scene is a destination unto it- self" Reykjavík's vibrant culinary scene was the inspiration for two culinary festivals held each year. FOOD AND FUN Food and fun is an event which combines outstanding culinary skills, fresh natu- ral ingredients, Icelandic outdoor adventure and the world-famous Reykjavik nightlife to create the ultimate recipe for fun. The core element of the festival involves world acclaimed chefs collaborating with Reykjavik's best restaurants preparing a special menu made out of Icelandic ingredients only. The second element of the festival is the chef competition, where the chefs compete by making three courses, made out of Icelandic ingredients only. The competition is unique because the chefs all possess exceptional culinary skills, but have not worked with Icelandic ingredients before. REYKJAVÍK REAL FOOD FESTIVAL Reykjavík real food festival is a celebration of Icelandic food and food culture that hosts a range of events that rock your taste buds. Festival guests experi- ence Icelandic cuisine made from the freshest harvest straight from the farm. Guests are able to feast on special festival menus at restaurants across Rey- kjavík, meet farmers at the market and experience Icelandic culture through various events and happenings.
