Every year over a hundred events are held in various loca ons, from lectures and seminars to unconven onal concerts. Reykjavík Art Museum collaborates with numerous fes vals, including Iceland Airwaves, Museum Night, Reykjavík Arts Fes val, DesignMarch and Cultural Night. The museum holds some of the most dis nguished works in Iceland's ar s c landscape. The museum's exhibits run the gamut from the historical to the disorien ng and boundary-pushing, while its special events range from quiet concerts to alterna ve rock events. The Reykjavik Art Museum offers its buildings to private hire for various recep ons and events with a capacity of up to 1000 guests. Reykjavík Art Museum was founded in 1973 and has since then been true to its mission of presen ng contemporary art in its many manifesta ons.
